Oregon State Troopers are continuing the investigation into a two vehicle crash on HWY 58 near milepost 19, just east of Lowell. According to Sergeant Mike Brewster on May 21st, 2015 at about 4:13PM, troopers responded to the report of a head on crash on HWY 58 near milepost 19. It was learned that a 1997 Ford Ranger, operated by Jason HAYS, 33 of, Eugene, was traveling eastbound on HWY 58 when it left the roadway for an unknown reason. The vehicle lost control and reentered the roadway, striking a westbound 2003 Chevrolet Pickup operated by Johnnie GONZALES, age 53, of Bonanza, OR. A passenger in the 2003 Chevrolet, Katherine GONZALES, age 50, of Bonanza, was pronounced deceased on scene. Johnnie GONZALES and HAYS were transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center for serious injuries.
