On Monday, September 14, 2021 at approximately 3:50 PM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 7 near milepost 23. Preliminary investigation revealed that a KTM 950, operated by Lawrence Drake (78) of Ashland, was southbound on Hwy 7 when it failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway before crashing. Drake sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
