On Sunday, June 20, 2021 at approximately 11:47 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 84 near mile post 67. Preliminary investigation revealed a Subaru Impreza, operated by Enrique Sosa (21) from Mosier, was westbound when it crashed through a guardrail, went down an embankment and stopped in the Columbia River. Sosa and the juvenile passenger sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased.
