On November 15, 2021, at around 4:48 A.M., OSP responded to a crash on Interstate 84 milepost 259 near La Grande. A commercial motor vehicle was traveling eastbound when it failed to negotiate a curve. The CMV rolled onto its left side causing the operator, Eric Thomas (51) of St. Louis, MO., to be ejected from the vehicle. OSP was assisted on the scene by Union County Fire and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
