Improper Use of 911, March 12

Wildahl Rd., CCSO release – On 03/08/2019 at about 10:46 PM, Coos County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at 63324 Wildahl Rd in Coos Bay. Upon the Deputy’s arrival, the Deputy made contact with the individuals at the residence who stated they had not been arguing or screaming. The Deputies found no evidence that a disturbance had occurred. At about 12:05 AM on 03-09-19, Coos County Dispatch received a second report of a disturbance at the same residence. Coos County Dispatch advised the Deputies the 911 call had originated from the area of State Highway 101 and Ingersoll Ave in Coos Bay. Coos County Dispatch also advised the Deputies they believed the caller could be an ex-boyfriend. After being advised the call had not originated near the residence on Wildahl Road, the Deputy contacted the caller, later identified as31 year old Michael Leonard Porter. Michael sounded very intoxicated and stated the male in the home was “not a good guy”. Michael stated he wasn’t in the area of the residence. The Deputies responded to the residence and made contact, again finding no disturbance. The resident of the home stated she believed Michael, who is her ex-boyfriend, had made the two 911 unfounded calls. At about 0105 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the residence a third time for a report of Michael breaking down the front door of the residence. Upon the Deputies’ arrival, Michael had fled the scene. Michael later returned to the residence very intoxicated. The Deputies confirmed that Michael had made the initial two unfounded 911 calls. Michael was placed under arrest for Improper Use of 911 and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree. The resident declined to pursue charges for the damage to the residence. Michael was transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked in on the charges and issued citations for the offences.
