A Central Oregon Coast man only suffered minor injuries after his vehicle left Hwy. 34 east of Waldport and ended up in the Alsea River. The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, about 12:15 p.m., March 17. Thirty-five year old Jason Joel Martin, of Tidewater, was eastbound when his four-door Subaru pickup truck went out of control, left the roadway, and plunged over an embankment and into the river. Divers had to be brought in to help secure a cable to a tow truck to remove it from the river.
