On March 28, 2016 at about 10:45AM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle motorcycle crash on Highway 234 near milepost 4 (Sam’s Valley Highway, just east of Gold Hill). Preliminary investigation revealed the male rider was operating a 2014 BMW motorcycle eastbound on Highway 234 and for unknown reasons, left the roadway and struck a tree. Ground ambulance transported the rider, Scott M HAYNES, age 61, of Medford, to a nearby landing zone for an air ambulance which was enroute. Prior to HAYNES being transferred to the air ambulance, he died from his injuries.
