News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office, July 23, 2015. Today, Coos County Sheriff Craig Zanni is issuing the order that as of August 1, 2015 the Coos County Jail will go to a 49 jail bed limit until further notice. The Sheriff anticipates that this will be only temporary, possibly 90 to180 days. This decrease from 98 bed limit is due to staffing shortage and the Sheriff’s Office is actively recruiting applicants to fill the vacancies.
