At approximately 7:41 AM on Friday August 21, 2020, the Junction City Police Department received a tip from an observant citizen reporting a possible sighting of the vehicle driven by the suspect in Thursday’s robbery of the Junction City Tractor Supply Company. The citizen stated the vehicle may have been parked in the area of W. 7th Ave. in Eugene. Junction City Police notified Eugene Police who located Carlos David Argueta, age 36, driving the vehicle. Investigation revealed Argueta was wearing the exact same shirt and cap as he was when he committed the robbery. One of the two stolen DeWalt cordless power tools was recovered, along with several other stolen items from other retail outlets. Junction City Police lodged Argueta at the Lane County Adult Correctional Facility on one count of Robbery in the first degree, two-counts of Recklessly Endangering Another, and two-counts of Menacing. The Eugene Police Department lodged Argueta at the Lane County Jail on additional Charges as well. This incident is a great example of how agencies partnering together along with community members can make significant impacts that would otherwise be impossible if only working alone.
