The Johnson Family Football Coaching Legacy continues. Jordan Johnson, son of Marty Johnson and grandson of Marshfield Hall of Fame Coach John Johnson, has been named the new head football coach at Cottage Grove High School. It will be the former Sheldon and University of Montana graduate’s first head coaching job. His dad coached him while he quarterbacked Sheldon High School of Eugene to two state championships. The two have been working together on the staff of former Marshfield graduate Gary Roberts who announced his retirement earlier this year after 11 seasons with CG. Roberts, the school’s athletic director, says he will stay on the staff and assist Jordan. Johnson, a math teacher at the 4A school, has been serving as defensive coordinator for the Lions and was part of Cottage Grove’s championship season in 2017.
