Oregon’s two U.S. Senators have jointly signed a letter to President Donald Bush urging his administration to not weigh in on the proposed Jordan Cove Energy Project on Coos Bay’s North Spit. The strongly worded letter sent Wednesday, May 3, follows comments made by Trump’s chief economic adviser Gary Cohn who indicated the permitting process for the proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal was a top priority for the administration. Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley are reportedly supportive of the regulatory process and their representatives have stated the two are committed to having all voices heard.
