On Friday, May 12, 2017, at 7:05 pm, Douglas County Emergency Communications received a 9-1-1 call reporting a male had been shot by another subject in the 300-Block of Redfearn Lane in Riddle. Deputies responded to the area and located the 55 year-old victim who had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Deputies learned the suspect, 35 year-old Riddle resident Christopher Bonner Allen, had fled the scene after the shooting. K9 Grim was deployed and was able to track Allen, leading deputies to him to make the arrest. Allen was taken into custody without further incident. Allen was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on the following charges: Assault I (Class A Felony), Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Class C Felony), Menacing (Class A Misdemeanor) and Pointing a Firearm at Another (Misdemeanor). The victim was treated at the scene by EMS, but was not transported to the hospital by ambulance.
