A 58-year old male was rescued by a USCG helicopter crew from North Bend Sunday, July 12 after his kayak capsized near the base of Humbug Mountain in Curry County. According to reports, the incident was witnessed on shore and 911 was called about 12:30 p.m. A 29-foot Response Boat-Small crew from the USCG Rogue River also responded to the rescue call. The unidentified male was located on a rocky shore about 1:30 p.m. He was reported in good condition and transported by the helicopter crew to the Cape Blanco airport where he was met by medical personnel.
