Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) wishes everyone a happy and safe 4th of July. CFPA wants everybody to enjoy their celebration but they want to remind everyone that fire season is in effect. If you are going to be using fireworks please remember the following fire prevention tips: • Only use fireworks that are legal for use in Oregon. • Always use fireworks in areas free of flammable vegetation (Fireworks are not allowed on State Parks & Beaches, US Forest Service, or BLM lands). • Always have a bucket of water or fire extinguisher available. • Always use fireworks as intended by the manufacturer, never modify or alter them. Grasses and fine fuels are drying out fast and are easily ignited so please remember to celebrate this Independence Day safely and lets make it a wildfire-free holiday. For information on licensed and approved fireworks displays, please contact your local media or community activity calendar for a list of these events. For further information contact the CFPA Closure Information Line at (541) 267-1789, visit the website at www.coosfpa.net, or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
