Keeping the 3A Tournament in the Bay Area, Feb. 5

News release from Katherine Hoppe, Director of Promotion & Conventions for the Coos Bay – North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau. It’s that time of year again! The 3A Basketball tournament will be held March 5 – 7, 2015 at Marshfield & North Bend high schools. In order to ensure this tournament keeps coming back to the area, we need your support. There are several ways you can help: 1. Purchase an all event pass. Adult all event passes are $50, student passes $25. They can be purchased at either high school’s athletic department or by contacting Steve Schneidermen-MHS Booster Club President at 541-297-0091. 2. Do you have a business along Hwy. 101 or Virginia Ave.? Volunteer to decorate your windows in one of the participating team’s colors to show your support and make our visiting teams feel welcome. Contact your downtown association to reserve a team. 3. Put a Welcome 3A Tournament on your reader board or display area starting March 3rd. 4. Donate small gift item for the coach’s gift bags. We’ll be putting together 16 gift bags for coaches and would love to include items such as water bottles, trinkets, candy, souvenirs, coupons for team discounts, etc. Items can be dropped off at the Coos Bay Visitor Center. 5. Do you have a restaurant? Offer to give discounts on meals for teams who come in for dinner. Keep in mind these are teenagers and teams on a budget so more economical restaurants will most likely be the preference. 6. Help us spread the word.
