Klamath Co. Fatal, Nov. 3

On Monday, November 2, 2015, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office was involved in trying to locate a stolen vehicle that was involved in a pursuit. The vehicle was located and a collision occurred between the Sheriff’s Office vehicle and the stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of Lakeshore Drive, Klamath Falls, Oregon. The driver of the stolen vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the stolen vehicle was Matthew Stephen COLLIGAN, age 28. The Deputy Sheriff involved in the incident had minor injuries and pursuant to protocol is on administrative leave. The investigation is ongoing. The public is advised that the vehicles have been cleared from Lakeshore Drive and that normal vehicular traffic has resumed. The agencies involved in this investigation are the Klamath Falls Police Department, Oregon State Police, Klamath County Community Corrections, and Klamath County District Attorney’s Office.
