Southwestern Oregon Community College Track opens its season at the Eric Anderson Ice Breaker at Linfield College this Saturday. The Lakers had one overall winner with Kuda Mursiranwa winning the 100 Meters in arctic weather and into a fair head wind. Mursiranwa ran 11.10. Cole Kreutzer was 4th in the Long Jump with a leap of 20’ 10 ¾”. Kreutzer was also 6th in the Triple Jump at 42’ 10”. Mike Mitchell was 5th in the High Jump at 5’ 10” and Luke Elliot was 8th also at 5’ 10” with more misses. Lincoln Newdall placed 8th in the Discus with a 124’ 7” throw. On the women’s side Breanna Mariscal was 3rd in the 400 IM Hurdles with a time of 1:74. 19. Stormy Silver placed 8th in Women’s High Jump at 4’ 8”. Grace Herman placed 8th in the Javelin with a throw of 107’ 10”. The Lakers will be at Pacific University this weekend for the Pacific Open. The annual Prefontaine Masters Meet will be April 8th this year and is open to all athletes that are past High School age.
