BLM release – Reedsport, Ore. – A Bureau of Land Management road crew was on scene on Lower Smith River Road (Road #36.0), northeast of Reedsport, clearing debris from a series of landslides that occurred in the area on Sunday, Dec. 20. Residents reported the landslides were blocking the road near the 20-mile marker. The road crew was able to open the road to emergency traffic Sunday, Dec. 20. The Bureau of Land Management had both lanes of traffic re-opened by the end of Monday, Dec. 21. Motorists were asked to use alternate routes during the removal of debris.
