League of Women Voters Meeting, Jan. 9

The League of Women Voters of Coos County will meet to discuss the proposed Community Enhancement Plan for Coos County on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Coos Bay Fire Station, 450 Elrod Avenue, Coos Bay. Coos Bay City Councilor, Jennifer Groth, and Coos County Commissioner, John Sweet, will discuss the structure of enterprise zones in Oregon, and the specific framework of the enterprise zone agreement with Jordan Cove, which is currently in process. Councilor Groth has served as the chair of the Community Enhancement Plan Work Group, which includes representation from the Port of Coos Bay, the Cities of Coos Bay and North Bend, and Coos County. Commissioner Sweet serves on the board of the South Coast Community Foundation and will join Ms. Groth in the discussion. The public is welcome to attend.
