Bay Area residents may have been surprised the last week of November as Les’ Sanitary Service/North Bend Sanitation, changed their recycling policy. The notice was on their website: Recycling Changes – 11/28/2017 to 2/28/2018 – Due to the changing global recycling market only these items will be accepted. All other items will be considered contamination and will need to be disposed of properly. Brown Cardboard, Tin and Aluminum Cans, Newspaper, Magazines, High-Grade office paper (no junk mail), #1 and #2 bottleneck plastics and Glass bottles and jars. *No lids or ANY food particles* The move leaves a lot of paper and waste going to the landfill instead of recycling the move has angered many environmental supporters in the Bay Area.
