Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Small Business Development Center (Southwestern SBDC) is offering a workshop in North Bend called Let’s Put Coos County on the Map. The workshop will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at The Business Center, 2455 Maple Leaf, North Bend. Did you know 97% of consumers look online for local goods and services according to BIA/Kelsey? Did you know 4 out of 5 consumers use search engines to find nearby information? In spite of these overwhelming statistics for the benefit of using online mapping, only 37% of businesses have claimed a local business listing on a search engine according to the MarketingSherpa Search Marketing Benchmark Report. At the SBDC we believe it’s time businesses learned how to use this free listing technology to better reach customers. This workshop will help people in Coos County find local goods and services by claiming their free map listings on search engines. Preregistration is required. Thanks to Ford Family Foundation and Google sponsorship, the cost of the training is $20. Those interested in attending can contact the SBDC at 541-756-6866 for more information or register online at http://www.socc.edu/sbdc. Payment for the class can be mailed to the Small Business Development Center, 2455 Maple Leaf, North Bend, OR 97459.
