Coos public libraries invite local readers to join readers across the state in celebrating Oregon’s greatest poet, William Stafford. Oregon Reads 2014 is a special project of the Oregon Library Association and is this year’s Title Wave program of the Coos County Library Service District. Oregon Book Award Finalists Elena Passarello and Scott Nadelson give a free reading from their books at the North Bend Public Library on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:00 pm. Passarello is a writer, actor and the first female winner of the Stella! Shout-out screaming contest. Her essays have appeared in Slate, Oxford American, Creative Nonfiction. She teaches creative writing at Oregon State University. Nadelson is the author of three short story collections, most recently Aftermath, and a memoir, The Next Scott Nadelson: A Life in Progress. He teaches at Willamette University and in the Rainier Writing Workshop MFA program at Pacific Lutheran University.
