Lincoln County will be holding a news conference about its active E. Coli investigation September, 11th at 10:00am in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room. A case of E. coli has been confirmed by the Oregon State Public Heath Lab. The strain has been identified as 0157. This active investigation continues to be coordinated by the Oregon Health Authority and Lincoln County Health and Human Services. Four-year old Serena Profitt, of Otis, died Monday, Sept. 8, at a Portland hospital after attending a Labor Day weekend gathering with family in Lincoln City. A five-year old boy who attended the same gathering and shared a turkey sandwich from a restaurant with the girl, as well as swimming in a pond together, is being treated at a Tacoma, WA hospital. Brad Sutton is in critical condition and being treated for E. coli.
