The Linn County Major Crimes Team is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred in Lebanon earlier Monday evening, April 6. The Oregon State Police is leading the investigation and working in cooperation with the Linn County District Attorney. Preliminary information from investigators at the scene indicates that sometime around 6:00 p.m., law enforcement personnel from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and later the Lebanon Police Department, responded to a residence at 3000 Stoltz Hill Road, in Lebanon, to conduct a welfare check on a person who was reportedly suffering from a medical issue. Shortly after arrival, one of the officers was confronted by an adult male carrying a firearm. The officer fired his weapon at the subject but did not hit him. No one was injured during the shooting and the subject was taken into custody without further incident.
