Log Roll Fatality Update, March 29

The victim of Saturday’s, March 25, fatal log roll accident on the Bandon beach at the South Jetty has been identified as Aurora GENAI SHEFFEL, a 14-year old female from Eugene.  According to police reports, Sheffel was playing on a log about 4 p.m., during a heavy receding tide, when the log suddenly rolled on top of her. Witnesses were able to remove her from underneath the log after several attempts. Despite the efforts of a responding Bandon Police officer, who administered CPR and the paramedics who performed life saving measures, the victim succumbed to her injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased at South Coos General Hospital.
