Log Truck Accident Closes Coastal Route, Feb. 19

A log truck driver had no apparent injury Tuesday morning when his log truck and trailer overturned along Highway 126W west of Noti in Lane County. The load of logs spilled off the highway into the front yard of a residence causing damage to a power pole and closure of the highway. According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Recruit Trooper Bryan Kolacz, on February 18, 2014 at approximately 11:20 a.m., a log truck pulling a loaded trailer driven by ERIC S. WEDEKIND, age 39, from Yoncalla, was eastbound on Highway 126W near milepost 41. While traveling through a curve, the logs began to fall off the trailer causing the truck and trailer to overturn. The truck and trailer came to rest on the side of the highway. The logs came to rest on the shoulder and in a yard at 22092 Highway 126W. WEDEKIND was using safety restraints and had no apparent injury. He was checked at the scene by paramedics.
