Mike Washburn as Henry Clerval and Sage Coleman as Boris Weirdly play obsessive scientists perfecting genetic research to lengthen the lifespan and productivity of food source plants in the current production at the Liberty Theatre.  The Creature in the Crawlspace written by Dick Booth and directed by Josie Reid, will run two more weekends with Friday and Saturday performances at 7pm and Sunday Matinee’s at 2pm.  Other characters include Henry’s two sisters Katherine and Elizabeth Clerval,played by Kathleen Zappelli and Lorraine Chappell, Mr. Vrollock, played by Kevin Goss, Henry’s daughter Tina Clerval played by McKenzie Rescorla, Detective Van Helsing played by Aiden Slaska, and the Housekeeper Lucy Westbrook played by Debbie Rogers.  There are 3 children cast as Characters.  Madeline Peters plays the Mummy, Elias Moore plays the Daddy and Payden Johnston plays Mr. Lupus. This is the third time this show has been performed on the Liberty Stage.  Once in 1981, then in 1992, both Directed by the Author.  Each show featured a special dance.  I just learned yesterday that the 1981 featured dance song was “the Monster Mash” by Bobby Pickett and in 1992, Skeletons dancing to “Staying Alive” by the BeeGees.  This 2018 show features up to 32 Halloween Costumed children dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Tickets are available online at thelibertytheatre.org or at the box office located at 2100 Sherman Avenue in North Bend on Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm, or one hour before curtain.
