Make a Mask at Coos Art Museum, Oct. 28

on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 11am – 3pm, Coos Art Museum will be featuring a free interactive Saturday program titled, “Mask Making: Creating with what you’ve got.” Don’t make a mess in your house getting ready for Halloween, make a mess at the Coos Art Museum. We will have a host of supplies to hot glue to a cardboard mask of your own design and cutting. From creepy to kooky to sweet, everyone can have their mask for Halloween made by their own hands. All ages welcome, but children do require adult supervision. No special skills needed only a steady hand and an imagination! Coos Art Museum is celebrating 50 years as a center of arts and culture on Oregon’s South Coast. In celebration of this significant accomplishment the Museum is hosting CAM Community Days. CAM Community Days are interactive, hands on Saturdays in the art museum. Activities include: art projects, demonstrations, collaborative activities, community building and experiences that communicate local culture through artistic expression. This event is open to the public. Coos Art Museum is located in downtown Coos Bay on Anderson and doors open at 11 am. Admission to the Museum is FREE for CAM Community Days thanks to the generous support of local sponsors: Grami Properties, Honda World, Century 21 Best Realty, Inc., Spotlight Country Bar & Night Club, Bay Area Rotary Club and Oregon Coast Council for the Arts. Coos Art Museum has been a cultural focal point of Oregon’s scenic Southern Coast since 1966. It occupies an historic 1936 Art Deco US Federal Building in downtown Coos Bay. The Museum offers a wide range of arts activities including exhibitions, art classes and lectures. Hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm, Tuesday through Friday and 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday.  Museum admission: $5 general, $2 students, veterans and seniors, free to Museum members.
