On August 1, 2017, at about 8:15PM, Troopers from the Grants Pass Area Command responded to a stabbing call in the 100 block of N Boundary Avenue, in Josephine County. The Oregon State Police Criminal Investigation Division from the Central Point office responded to conduct the investigation. The initial investigation has determined that 58 year old, Valerie Lynne ATCHER was in an argument with her husband, 55 year old Eric ATCHER and stabbed him at least one time. Eric ATCHER died as a result of his injuries at the residence. Valerie ATCHER was arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail on the charge of Manslaughter in the first degree.
