Marine Board Soliciting Written Comments on Outfitter Guide Requirements, March 13

The Oregon State Marine Board is soliciting written public comment on amending notification requirements for Outfitter and Guides. Current rules place an administrative burden on Outfitter and Guides by requiring them to notify the Agency whenever an employee’s CPR/First Aid Certification expires or is renewed. The proposed rule change removes this requirement and instead, requires Outfitter and Guides to maintain those records for periodic review. The Oregon State Marine Board filed Notice of Rulemaking with the Oregon Secretary of State, published in the March 2nd Oregon Bulletin to amend OAR 250-016-0025. Written comment will be accepted until April 1, 2020, by 4:30 pm. Comments can also be submitted by email to osmb.rulemaking@oregon.gov or by U.S. Mail to Jennifer Cooper, Administrative Rules Coordinator, Oregon State Marine Board, 435 Commercial Street NE, Salem, OR 97301. Testimony will not be accepted by telephone. The Board will meet April 15, 2020, and may make a motion to adopt, amend, or take some other action with regard to the proposed rulemaking.  To view the rule notice, visit http://www.oregon.gov/OSMB/info/Pages/Rulemaking-and-Public-Notices.aspx.
