Booster Clubs
The Marshfield and North Bend booster clubs meet today at noon.  The North Bend backers gather at the high school’s Hall of Champions where cost of lunch is $7.  The Marshfield supporters meet at Abby’s Pizza in downtown Coos Bay.  Both meetings are open to those interested in high school athletics.

Visiting Marshfield (3-9, 4-14) downed Brookings-Harbor (6-5, 10-7) 6-5 in a 4A Far West League baseball game Tuesday.  In other FWL games, first place North Bend (9-1, 9-8) won at South Umpqua (4-6, 7-9), 10-2, and second place Siuslaw (7-2, 9-4) won at Sutherlin (2-10, 2-16), 14-0.  Douglas (6-4, 7-9) had a bye.

Marshfield freshman Mackenzie Johnson pitched a two-hitter Tuesday night in Coos Bay as the Lady Pirates knocked visiting Brookings-Harbor (8-3, 14-4) out of a share of second place in the 4A Far West League with an 8-0 win at Coos Head Field.  Marshfield (6-6, 9-10) had eleven hits in the game.  Junior Katelyn Rossback was three-for-four at the plate, earned a walk and scored three times.   In other FWL games, South Umpqua remains perfect in first place with a 10-0 win in six innings at home over visiting North Bend.  Siuslaw beat visiting Sutherlin 10-0 in five innings.  Second place Douglas (8-2, 11-3) had a bye.

Brookings-Harbor swept its own eight-team Twilight Track Meet Tuesday.  The Bruin boys won with 207-points, while Marshfield was second with 119.5, followed by Coquille with 116, Rogue River 71, Pacific 67.5, South Umpqua 34, Illinois Valley 19 and Gold Beach 10.  Brookings-Harbor’s girls won with 175-points, followed by Coquille with 102, Pacific 88, Illinois Valley 79, Rogue River 61, Marshfield 59, South Umpqua 29 and Gold Beach 15.  Pirate winners:  B4X400 Relay (James Crompton, Jaime Flores, Matthew Hampton, Cody Harkins) 3:53.65; GPV Mixtli Rodriguez 6-06.
