Sutherlin swept visiting Marshfield in 4A Far West League basketball Tuesday night.  The Bulldog girls won for the 22nd time this season against no losses, 71-25.  Marshfield opened with a 5-0 lead, but Sutherlin (11-0, 22-0) called time out and rallied back quickly to take the lead and never looked back.  Jade Chavez scored eight for the Lady Pirates (7-5, 16-8).  Sutherlin also won the JV game, 42-24.  In the nightcap, Marshfield was playing for an outright league title, while the Bulldogs needed a win to gain a co-championship.  It was tied at 25 at the half and the Pirates (10-2, 14-10) forged a lead in the third before Sutherlin (9-2, 17-5) rallied and took a four-point edge into the fourth.  That margin held up to the end.  The Bulldogs still have to play at Douglas (0-11, 1-19) Friday, but are expected to win.  Douglas lost at South Umpqua (4-7, 11-10) 55-45.  If Sutherlin wins as expected against the Trojans, Marshfield and the Bulldogs will play Monday at Coquille to determine the league’s No. 1 and No. 2 seeds.
