Prep playoffs
Marshfield gets a bye from the “Play-In” round of the state 4A boys’ basketball playoffs. The Pirates, the No. 1 seed from the Far West League will play one of the winners from the “Play-In” round March 8, 4 p.m. during the 3A State Basketball Tournament at Marshfield High School. The winner will advance to the State 4A Basketball Tournament at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis March 13-15. Three other FWL teams will be in the “Play-In” round, North Bend will host Seaside, Saturday, 5 p.m., Sutherlin hosts Ridgeview and Brookings-Harbor plays at Junction City. Marshfield’s girls, the No. 3 seed from the FWL, will travel to Banks to play the Braves in a “Play-In” game Friday night, 6 p.m. Other FWL teams: unbeaten and top-ranked Sutherlin gets a bye, and the league’s No. 2 team, Brookings-Harbor will host Stayton.
