Booster Clubs
The Marshfield and North Bend Booster Clubs meet today.  North Bend gathers at the high school’s Hall of Champions where lunch costs $7.  The Pirate backers meet at Abby’s Pizza in Coos Bay.  Both meetings are open to the public and begin at noon.

NBHS Bowling
The North Bend High School girls bowling team took 1st place last weekend at North Bend Lanes.  The Lady Bulldogs averaged over 180 for the tournament and led the whole day. The boys team finished 3rd in Florence and will compete at North Bend Lanes this Sunday.

Marshfield’s boys upset the No. 1 4A power ranked team with a 52-45 overtime win over visiting Brookings-Harbor Tuesday night in a Far West League basketball game.  The Pirates outscored the Bruins 12-5 in the extra period to improve to 2-0 in league, 6-6 overall, while Brookings falls to 1-1 in league and 8-2 overall.  Marshfield jumped out to a big lead in the first half, but the Bruins held the Pirates to just two-points in the fourth and actually mounted a two-point lead late before Marshfield tied it up and forced the OT.  Sophomore Jake Miles scored 14-points, all in the second half, while Kody Dean had 13 off the bench and Rylee Trendell had 12.  Marshfield won the JV game as well, 48-32.  In other FWL games, North Bend (8-3, 1-0) won at South Umpqua (7-3, 1-1) 63-45, and Sutherlin (7-3, 1-1) beat visiting Siuslaw (4-8, 0-2) 52-42.  Douglas (1-8, 0-1) had a bye.  In the girl’s game, Brookings-Harbor rallied in the second half at Marshfield and won 33-31.  The Bruins (10-1, 1-1) didn’t allow a Lady Pirate (8-5, 0-2) point in the third and then outscored Marshfield 9-6 in the fourth to win the game.  Savannah Thurman led Marshfield with 15-points.  In other FWL games, Sutherlin (10-0, 2-0) beat visiting Siuslaw (3-9, 1-1) 55-28, and North Bend (2-7, 0-1) fell at South Umpqua (1-10, 1-1) 48-39.  Douglas (5-4, 1-0) had a bye.  Marshfield won the JV game with Brookings-Harbor 38-28.
