Marshfield handed visiting South Umpqua two 4A Far West League softball losses Monday in Coos Bay.  The fourth place Lady Pirates have now won six games in a row, while the first place Lancers suffered their first league losses.  Marshfield won 6-5 & 3-2.  In other FWL games, second place Douglas beat North Bend 18-0 & 26-2, and third place Brookings-Harbor swept Siuslaw 7-2, 7-0 in Florence.  Sutherlin had the bye.  Today, Douglas (12-3, 15-5) plays at South Umpqua (13-2, 15-7), Marshfield (11-6, 14-10) is at Sutherlin (1-14, 1-21) and Brookings-Harbor (11-4, 17-5) visits North Bend (2-13, 4-16).  Siuslaw (4-12, 4-14) has the bye.

First place North Bend beat visiting Douglas 12-10 & 9-1 in a 4A Far West League baseball doubleheader at Clyde Allen Field in North Bend Monday.  The Bulldogs (14-1, 14-8) have already clinched the league’s championship.  Second place Siuslaw (9-5, 11-7) didn’t play on Monday, nor did third place South Umpqua (8-7, 11-10) or fourth place Brookings-Harbor (7-6, 11-8).  Douglas (7-8, 8-14) is in fifth, followed by Marshfield (5-12, 6-17) and Sutherlin (2-13, 2-19).  Siuslaw plays at Brookings-Harbor Wednesday.  Today, North Bend is at Brookings-Harbor, South Umpqua is at Douglas, and Marshfield hosts Sutherlin.  Siuslaw has the bye.
