OSAA Power Rankings
The Oregon Schools Activities Association (OSAA) froze the baseball and softball prep rankings Sunday night, May 18.  Teams, locations, dates and times of the play-in rounds will be announced Monday morning.  Baseball Far West League champion North Bend (PR No. 14) will receive a bye from the play-in rounds, while Marshfield (PR No. 17), the No. 4 team in the softball race will be on the road in the play-in round Thursday.

Far West League baseball champion North Bend (17-1, 17-8) ended the league regular season Friday with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Siuslaw 6-4, 12-2 at Clyde Allen Field in North Bend.  Second place Brookings-Harbor (11-7, 15-9) took two from visiting South Umpqua, 6-1, 19-6.  South Umpqua (9-9, 12-12), Siuslaw (9-9, 11-11) and Douglas (9-9, 10-15) finish tied for third place.  Douglas won two at home from Sutherlin (3-15, 3-21), 7-4, 7-6.  Marshfield (5-13, 6-18) had the bye.

Far West League softball champion South Umpqua split its final regular season league doubleheader with visiting third place Brookings-Harbor Friday in Tri City.  The Lancers (15-3, 17-8) won the opener 6-0, but lost the second game to the Bruins (13-5, 19-6) 10-4.  Second place Douglas (14-4, 17-6) routed Sutherlin (1-17, 1-24) on the road, 25-3, 10-4.  Fourth place Marshfield (12-6, 16-10) had the bye, but won a non-league game at Coquille 8-2.  North Bend (2-16, 4-19) dropped two at Siuslaw (6-12, 6-14) in Florence 10-0, 12-2.
