Booster Clubs
The Marshfield and North Bend booster clubs meet today, noon. The Pirate supporters will gather at Abby’s Pizza in Coos Bay, while the North Bend backers meet at the High School’s Hall of Champions. Both luncheons are open to those interested in local Bay Area prep sports.

Marshfield finished third at the 4A OSAA Boy’s Golf Championships at Quail Valley Golf Course near Banks Tuesday. The Pirates shot a 322 on the second day of the two-day tournament to finish with a 647. Seaside won with a 623, followed by Valley Catholic with a 643. Bryce Wortman, a junior at Mazama in Klamath Falls, was the medalist with a 138. Jacob Klein led the Pirates with a 159 (84-75), tied for 10th. Kasey Banks tied for 12th with a 161 (85-76), Preston Luckman tied for 17th with a 165 (82-83), Jack Larson tied for 20th with a 168 (88-80), and Cody Easton tied for 25th with a 172 (82-90).

Marshfield’s second year head softball coach Brooke Toy was honored as the Far West League Coach of the Year after her Pirates won the league title this season. Marshfield senior Katelyn Rossback was honored by the league’s coaches as the league’s MVP. The shortstop had six home runs this season to lead the Pirates at the plate. Marshfield’s three senior baseball players were honored with post season All League honors in voting by the Far West League’s coaches following the conclusion of the regular season. The Pirates Andrew sharp was First Team Infield; Tyler Campbell was First Team Pitcher and Austin Soria was First Team Infield. Marshfield finished third in the FWL to advance to post season play.

Far West League baseball champion North Bend fell 9-2 in a non-league game at Cottage Grove (15-11) on Tuesday. The Bulldogs (19-5) will open the 4A playoffs on May 27th at home.
