Marshfield’s Kasey Banks is tied for sixth following the first day of the OSAA State 4A Golf Championships at Eagle Crest, Redmond, on Monday. Banks shot an 18-hole total of 76, just five strokes off the lead of Brandon Elwanger, Baker, who shot 71. Preston Luckman shot an 80 and is tied for 14th. Jacob Klein turned in an 86, tied for 39th, and Cody Easton had a 93, and was tied for 57th. Jared Davisson, of North Bend, had an 89 and is tied for 47th. Marshfield’s Sean Paris had a 93, tied for 57th. Ridgeview and La Salle Prep are tied for first with a team total of 326. Seaside is third (328), followed by Marshfield in fourth (335). At the girl’s tournament played at Trysting Tree near Corvallis, North Bend’s Brooklyn Dunham had a first day total of 104, tied for 36th. Marshfield’s Jane Suppes was tied for 64th with a 115.
OSAA Power Rankings
Marshfield will play at LaSalle Prep (18-8) in Milwaukie on Thursday, May 22nd, in an OSAA 4ASoftball Play-In Round. The Lady Pirates (16-10) finished fourth in the Far West League and ended the regular season with a Power Ranking of No. 17. Other FWL teams in the playoffs: League champion South Umpqua (17-8) earned the bye. Second place Douglas (17-6) will host Crook County (16-8), and third place Brookings-Harbor (19-6) travels to Mazama (15-9) in Klamath Falls. North Bend’s baseball team earned a bye from the Play-In Round after winning the 4A Far West League title this season. The Bulldogs (17-8) ended with a Power Ranking of No. 14. Other FWL teams in the playoffs: second place Brookings-Harbor (15-9) hosts Cascade (15-7), third place Siuslaw (11-11) plays at Newport (14-8), and fourth place South Umpqua (12-12) travels to Astoria (15-6).
