Marshfield’s volleyball team improved to 3-0 with a three-set sweep at Sutherlin (3-2) Tuesday night. The first set ended up being a seesaw at the end with the Lady Pirates finally prevailing 31-29. Marshfield won the second set 25-19 and took the third set 25-17. Juniors Hailee Woolsey and Carly Clarkson each had four and three aces from the service line, and Woolsey led Marshfield in kills with 12. The Lady Pirate JV team also won in two straight, 25-23, 25-22. Marshfield hosts Churchill Thursday night.

Cottage Grove swept visiting North Bend 3-0 in a non-league volleyball match in the south Willamette Valley Tuesday night. The Bulldogs (0-3) play at the North Marion Tournament on Saturday.
