Measure 101 was approved by Oregon voters Tuesday during a Special Election. According to unofficial results statewide, the healthcare measure was approved by about 61-percent of the vote. As written, it will apply taxes on hospitals, health insurers and managed care companies to offset rising Medicaid costs. In Coos County, over 18,000 ballots were cast, and Measure 101 failed 50.77% (9305) to 49.23% (9021), according to unofficial final results from the County’s Election Dept.
