Menacing, July 11

News release CCSO.  On July 7, 2017 at approximately 1722 hrs. a Coos County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a report of a disturbance where a menacing with a firearm was in progress on Culbertson Lane which is 16 miles southeast of Coquille.  Upon the deputies arrival, it was learned the suspect in the incident with a firearm was still at the location. Upon arrival deputies learned Travis Cason 56 years of age of Coquille menaced several subjects with a firearm prior to their arrival.  Mr. Cason was detained and ultimately taken into custody for firearms charges. During the course of an investigation a search warrant was completed at Mr. Cason’s  residence located at 98610 Culbertson Ln. During the search warrant several firearms were located as well as a large amount of ammunition. These items were seized pursuant to the investigation. Mr. Cason was placed under arrest on the charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and two counts of Menacing. Travis was transported to the Coos County jail where he is being held on $45,000 bail.
