Metal Culvert Thieves Arrested, Jan. 7

News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 1/5/2015 Coos County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a Criminal Trespass and Theft of a property located on Eckley Mountain Road. Myrtle Point Police and Coquille Police Department responded to assist when a Myrtle Point Officer located the truck reported to be used in the theft. Subsequent investigation indicated Nichole Lindsey, age 40, and Scott Hughlett, age 48 entered onto the property and unlawfully removed a large quantity of metal culverts which were in the back of their truck at the time of the stop. Officers also located a firearm, ammunition, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the truck. Both were charged with Criminal Trespass II, Theft II and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) and were lodged at the Coos County Jail.
