News release from SCINT. Coquille, OR August 8th, 2014 Craig Dee Hibdon was sentenced to twenty-four months in custody after a twelve person jury trial. In November 2013, Child Protective Service advocates requested SCINT’s assistance for a home visit at 965 S. 1st Street in Coos Bay Oregon. A SCINT detective, assisted by Coos Bay Police, made contact with the defendant and confronted him regarding the allegations of physical abuse and drug activity around the three year old child. SCINT responded to the 1st street address and made contact with the defendant’s girlfriend/ mother of one of his children, Jami Ann Boyer (Farrell). A search was conducted of the residence. During the search, methamphetamine and marijuana paraphernalia was found in locations easily accessible to the toddler. The search also revealed a quantity of methamphetamine and drug transaction records. Further investigation revealed, Hibdon would establish his drug transactions in the presence of his minor child. Hibdon was charged with: Child Neglect in the First Degree, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and Frequenting a Place Where Controlled Substances are Used. On July 31, 2014 a Coos County jury found Hibdon guilty of all charges. Hibdon was also found to be persistently involved in similar offenses, unwilling to conform his conduct to the requirements of the law and was on release for an earlier drug case at the time of this offense.
