Marshfield’s girls’ basketball team lost 41-37 at Junction City Friday night in a 4A District 4 league playoff game. The loss ended the Lady Pirates (4-6, 9-15) season. Junction City advanced to play Marist Catholic Monday night, 5:45 p.m., in Eugene for the league’s No. 2 seed into the upcoming 4A Playoffs. Cottage Grove (9-1, 18-6) is the league’s No. 1 seed. Marshfield’s boys will host Junction City Monday, 6 p.m., in Coos Bay, to determine the boy’s No. 2 seed. JC (6-4, 16-10) beat visiting Siuslaw 63-56 in overtime Friday to advance to the playoff game with the Pirates (6-4, 15-8). League champion Marist Catholic (10-0, 20-3) is the No. 1 seed.
