Marshfield swept visiting Elmira in District 4 prep basketball Friday night at the Pirate Palace in Coos Bay. The Pirate boys won the night’s doubleheader opener 63-39, while the 4A top-ranked Lady Pirates mauled the Falcons 72-25. Marshfield hosts Marist Catholic Tuesday, Jan. 29. Boy’s game at 5:45 p.m., followed by the girl’s game. The Lady Pirates are in first place alone at 4-0 after Marist Catholic (3-1) lost to Cottage Grove at home in overtime 52-47. Marshfield’s boys (4-0) are tied with Marist Catholic (4-0) for first place.
