Marshfield’s boys moved into a tie for first-place in the District 4 prep basketball race with a 71-36 win at Elmira Tuesday. Siuslaw won at Junction City 65-59 putting the Pirates (7-2, 10-3) and Tigers (7-2, 11-2) into the top spot with one game to go, Thursday, JC at Marshfield. No score on Marist Catholic at Cottage Grove. Marshfield’s girls also won at Elmira 48-7. Cottage Grove beat visiting Marist Catholic 42-32 and Junction City downed visiting Siuslaw 57-32. CG (8-1, 9-3) has won the league with one to go. Marist Catholic is second (5-5, 5-3) & MHS third (4-3, 5-5).
