Booster Clubs
The Marshfield and North Bend booster clubs meet today at noon. The Pirate backers will gather at Abby’s Pizza in Coos Bay, and the Bulldogs supporters meet at the high school’s Hall of Champions.

North Bend took over sole possession of first place in the 4A Far West League baseball race with a 3-2 win at Siuslaw in Florence Tuesday. The win, coupled with Brookings-Harbor’s win at South Umpqua, 2-1, thrust the defending champions into the lead role. Douglas beat Marshfield 10-7 in Coos Bay. On Friday, North Bend (5-1, 10-4) hosts Douglas (3-3, 5-8), Marshfield (1-5, 3-10) is at Brookings-Harbor (3-3, 9-8) and South Umpqua (4-2, 7-10) plays at Siuslaw (2-4, 5-9).

Douglas is still in first place in the 4A Far West League softball race following a 7-0 win over visiting Marshfield Tuesday night in Winston. North Bend is solid in second after beating visiting Siuslaw 10-0 at the Oak Street Park Field. South Umpqua picked up a win at Brookings-Harbor 14-7. On Friday, Douglas (6-0, 11-3) hosts North Bend (5-1, 9-3), Brookings-Harbor (0-6, 1-14) is at Marshfield (2-4, 7-7), and Siuslaw (1-5, 4-9) travels to South Umpqua (4-2, 11-6).

Marshfield freshman Jeremy Roe won two events at a 4A Far West League JV track meet Tuesday at Douglas High School in Winston. Roe took the 1500 (4:31.17) and then came back and won the 3000 (10:01.27). North Bend senior Drae Stark won both the 110HH (15.70) & the Triple Jump (42-04). Senior Brianna Cole also won two events for the Bulldogs. She took the 200 (28.92) and the Triple Jump (32-00). Marshfield senior Hunter Drops won the Pole Vault with a 4A best of 16-00. North Bend and Marshfield’s track teams compete in the Central Coast Invitational at Florence on Friday.
