OSAA Dance
The Marshfield Upbeats will compete at the OSAA / U.S. Bank / Les Schwab Tires Dance/Drill State Championships scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, March 17-19 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland. More than 1,300 dancers representing teams from 62 Oregon high schools will compete for titles in four divisions. Preliminary rounds on Thursday and Friday will conclude with a drill down competition, all-state team announcement and grand finale performance. A trophy presentation and all-state team performance follow the final round Saturday.

Marshfield’s baseball team dropped their 2016 season opener at Newport Wednesday night 9-7. The Pirates, who used four pitchers in the game, jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but the Cubs slowly whittled away at the lead and finally took it in the sixth. Marshfield is next scheduled to compete in the Seaside Tournament Friday through Sunday.
