Marshfield finished fourth at the OSAA 4A/3A/2A/1A Boys State Golf Championships at Trysting Tree near Corvallis Tuesday.  The Pirates scored 686 over the two-day tourney.  Scappoose won the state championship with a 638, followed by Klamath Union 662 and Valley Catholic 664.  The Pirates Jack Larson tied for ninth with a 160.  Craig Ronne of Klamath Union was the individual medalist with a 137.  Other Pirates:  20 Justin Banks 169; T27 Jake Gerhardt 177; T32 Dhiren Charitar 180; T49 Kanyon Kohl 104.

Marshfield’s softball game at North Bend was rained out on Tuesday.  No makeup game will be scheduled.  The two teams open the OSAA playoffs at home Thursday.  North Bend is scheduled to host Astoria at 4 p.m. at the Oak Street Park Fields, and Marshfield is scheduled to host Hidden Valley at 5 p.m. at Coos Head.
