Marshfield’s girls claimed the third place trophy Saturday at the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 4A State Track & Field Championships held at Mt. Hood CC in Gresham. Hidden Valley of Grants Pass won with 97-points, followed by Philomath with 69.5 and the Lady Pirates with 51.5. North Valley took fourth with 49-points and Siuslaw was fifth with 48. Marshfield was led by Elise Martin, Ravyn Miranda & Khaley Aguilar. The three seniors accounted for 45 of the Lady Pirate’s points. Each were individual champions. Martin won the Triple Jump, took second in the 100H (15.42), and placed sixth in the Long Jump (16-06). Miranda won the Long Jump (17-05.5), placed sixth in the 100 (12.81), and was eighth in the 200 (26.50). Aguilar repeated as State Champ in the Pole Vault (11-00), while teammate, sophomore Raegan Rhodes placed third (9-06). Also for Marshfield, Mira Matthews was eighth (110-09) in the Javelin. The Pirate boys finished 15th with 19.50 points. Newport won with 65, followed by Mazama with 59, Gladstone 48.50 and Sweet Home 46. Seniors led Marshfield, Chase Howerton repeated as State Champion in the Pole Vault (14-06), while Cameron Chard tied for 8th (12-00). Sirus Robie was eighth in the Triple Jump (39-08.50), Gannon Hollan finished eighth in the Shot Put (43-10.50), Micah Tardie placed seventh in the 100 (11.57), and Brian Place took fourth in the Javelin (161-01).
